• PROBLEM 1: I am constructing a new house. How do I waterproof my plaster and concrete?

SOLUTION:

Normal concrete or plaster is porous in nature and thus becomes an easy source of water percolation because of interlinking pores presenting it. FAIRCRETE RMW generates micro bubbles during mixing and hence breaks these continuous pores, present in concrete or plaster, making then durable and waterproof. Just 150 ml of FAIRCRETE RMW is enough for a 50 kg bag of cement. It is a unique formula that makes the mortar cohesive and thus waterproof. FAIRCRETE RMW can also be used in screed / IPS for making it dense and watertight.

• PROBLEM 2: I am laying a brickbat coba on my terrace. However, I believe this is an age of method and may not be 100% effective in the long term. What should I do to make it completely waterproof?

SOLUTION:

Laying of brickbat coba is a lenghthy process. To minimize the voids and cracks in the coba, FAIRCRETE RMW should be used with cement mortar (150 ml of per 50 kg bag of cement) to make this system more impermeable. Two coats of FAIRCRETE SB(L) mixed with cement (in the ratio of 1:1 by volume) can be applied over the cleaned terrace for better results. This will provide additional impermeable layer below brickbat coba. The work of brickbat coba can be started after 72 hours of final coat of FAIRCRETE SB(L).

• PROBLEM 3: I am planning to build a farmhouse in Goa with a basement. How can I effectively waterproof this area?

SOLUTION:

A damp proofing needs to be provided between the basement slab and wall. Once the basement is over, give a waterproof coating of WATERGUARD CL on external surface of the wall to prevent water from penetrating inside. Provide sufficient number of nozzle during casting of basement slab for grouting. Once the concrete is set, add FAIRPLAST IP to the cement slurry in the ratio 200 gm per 50 kg bag of cement, and grout through the nozzle using a grouting pump. This will seal porosity in the concrete. Apply WATERGUARD A which is a high performance cementitious polymer modified coating that withstands negative water pressure, in 2 to 3 coats from the inside on the basement floor & walls atleast 1 feet above ground level. Allow this coating to air cure for 72 hours. Then apply bond coat- prepared with FAIRCRETE SB(L) and carry out plastering when the bond coat is tack. For base floor, suitable system like IPS, Tiling can be done.
